Today is an interesting day, when we celebrate the 200th birthdays of two giants, Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin.
Wired magazine has chimed in with a number of articles, two fresh ones this morning are Feb. 12, 1809: Darwin — Adapted There, Evolved That and At 200, Darwin Evolves Beyond Evolution.
Even Seth Godin wished Darwin a happy birthday in his insightful way. In The power of an algorithm, Seth writes “An algorithm is a set of instructions that allows you to solve a problem. . . . Algorithms don’t care a bit if you believe in them or not. They either work or they don’t. . . . Ideas that spread, win.” This algorithm, this idea that has spread, is Evolution.
