That can be done with a lot of complicated code, but it's way beyond a comment in a blog post. It's way beyond a blog post itself.

Thanks for the swift reply John. The problem is that I need to be able to grab the labels and have the leader lines follow the label no matter where I place them on the chart. Just like the way the labels follow the leader lines with the pie charts. The way you suggested would not allow me to do this.

Thanks

Carmine -

You can use error bars to simulate vertical or horizontal leader lines (see Callout Labels with Error Bars), or 2-point XY series (line and no marker) for any generic lines (see Callout Labels with XY Line Segments).

Hi John,

I work as a research analyst for a SaaS company and I produce a lot of quadrant charts. As I'm sure you know, you cannot add leader lines to connect labels to points for quadrant charts in Excel 2007. As far as I know, Excel only allows you to add leader lines to pie charts. Do you have a utility that would enable me to add these leader lines to the quadrant charts?

Thanks for taking the time to read my message.
